1. Binding Bids
By placing a bid, you are entering a legally binding agreement to purchase the item at your bid price if you are the highest bidder when the auction closes. All bids are final and binding once submitted.
2. Payment Authorization
When you place a bid, you will be redirected to Stripe's secure checkout page to verify a valid payment method. No charge or hold is placed at the time of bidding. If you are the winning bidder, your payment method will be charged automatically when the auction closes. Payment is processed by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor.
3. Bid Cancellation
You may cancel your bid at any time before the auction closes. If you cancel while you are the highest bidder, the next highest bid will become the leading bid. Once the auction has closed, bids cannot be cancelled and the winning bidder is obligated to pay.
4. Anti-Sniping Policy
If a bid is placed within the final 3 minutes of the auction, the auction end time will be automatically extended by 3 minutes. This ensures all bidders have a fair opportunity to respond.
5. Item Descriptions & Condition
All auction items are decommissioned components from JAB Innovations' Mark 4.5 microwave pyrolysis reactor. Items are sold "as-is, where-is" with no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. These items are collectibles and historical artifacts, not functional equipment. Descriptions and photographs are provided for reference; minor variations may exist.
6. Shipping & Delivery
Shipping is included in the winning bid price for domestic United States addresses. International shipping is not available at this time. Items will be shipped within 14 business days of auction close. JAB Innovations is not responsible for items lost or damaged during transit; however, all shipments will include tracking and insurance. You must provide a valid shipping address at the time of bidding.
7. No Returns or Refunds
All sales are final. No returns, refunds, or exchanges will be accepted. By placing a bid, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the item description and photographs and accept the item in its described condition.
8. Tax-Deductible Contribution
JAB Innovations, Inc. is a 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization. The portion of your winning bid that exceeds the fair market value of the item may be tax-deductible. A donation receipt will be provided to winning bidders. Consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your contribution.
9. Use of Proceeds
All proceeds from this auction support JAB Innovations' mission to advance plastic-to-fuel conversion technology and environmental sustainability initiatives, including the development of the Mark V solar-powered continuous microwave pyrolysis reactor.
10. Privacy
Your personal information (name, email, shipping address, and payment details) is collected solely for the purpose of processing your bid and fulfilling auction transactions. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and never stored on JAB Innovations' servers. Your name may appear in anonymized form on the live bid ticker (e.g., "J*** B.") unless you opt to bid anonymously.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from this auction shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it shall be subject to binding arbitration in the State of Georgia, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. By placing a bid, you agree to this dispute resolution process.
12. Limitation of Liability
JAB Innovations, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the auction, including but not limited to damages for loss of use, data, or profits. JAB Innovations' total liability shall not exceed the amount of the winning bid.
13. Modifications
JAB Innovations reserves the right to modify these terms, cancel the auction, or withdraw any item at any time before the auction closes. In the event of cancellation, all existing bids will be voided and no charges will be made.
14. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
